The Audia Flight FLS8 Mono Power Amplifier is our latest high-performance design, delivering remarkable responsiveness, very large power output—up to 800 Watts at 4 Ohms—and authoritative control over even the most demanding loudspeakers. Drawing inspiration from our acclaimed Strumento Series, the FLS8 was developed through extensive critical listening, with every detail refined to achieve sonic excellence. The chassis begins as a custom-cast, ultra-high-grade aluminum block, precisely CNC-machined, rigorously inspected, and meticulously hand-polished to a mirror finish. Key sections receive additional treatments such as shot peening and anodization, culminating in an elegant final product finished with fine silk-screening. Technically, the FLS8 shares core design principles with the Strumento Series, featuring fully balanced circuitry, carefully selected components, 32 premium power transistors, and a main power supply equipped with low-impedance capacitors totaling 128,000 microfarads. At its core lies Audia Flight’s exclusive class A current-feedback gain stage, housed in an aluminum enclosure and encapsulated in epoxy resin to ensure thermal stability and complete isolation from interference. The power supply architecture includes sixteen low-impedance capacitors rated at 6,800 microfarad and 63 volts each, two ultra-high-current power supplies per channel, and four independent regulated stages per channel—two dedicated to the input stage and two to the current-feedback stage. A separate 15VA toroidal transformer powers the logic control and protection circuits, ensuring absolute isolation from the audio path. The amplifier incorporates twelve independent power supplies in total, custom-designed printed circuit boards with high-purity, extra-thick copper traces, and a massive 2,000VA toroidal audio transformer housed within dual ferromagnetic shields and fully encapsulated in epoxy to power the output stage. Eliminating traditional fuses in the output stage power supply avoids sonic compromise; instead, a microprocessor-controlled current sensor provides protection. With these advanced technologies—many derived directly from the Strumento Series—the FLS8 offers outstanding performance, delivering both technical precision and a deeply engaging, emotionally resonant musical experience.
